Carrie Elizabeth Bridges

Carrie E. Bridges, age 96, of Weatherford, passed away Monday evening, October 17, 2016, at Holland Lake Nursing and Rehab Center in Weatherford, She was born December 8, 1919, to C. M. and Vernie Winstead. Funeral Service celebrating her life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until time for the service. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree from North Texas State University and a Master of Education Degree from Sul Ross State University, Carrie began her career at the McFarland School District in Parker County in 1940, she taught 50 years in nine school districts located in seven Texas Counties, loving every minute of it. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hubert Bridges and eight brothers.
She is survived by one nephew, Bob Winstead and wife, Christy, niece, Margie Crow, Niece Betty and husband, Kenneth Vickers, Dottie and husband, Wayne Walker. Several great nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Ruth Winstead.
