Catherine Whiting Bownds

Catherine Whiting Bownds, 86, of Weatherford died Saturday, September 9, 2006 in a Fort Worth hospital. Born May 27, 1920 in Butchel, Ohio she was a resident of Weatherford for many years. Catherine was a homemaker, a member of All Saints Episcopal, where she helped with Vacation Bible School, was owner / operator of Whiting Radio and TV Repair for 10 years, a former member of the Weatherford Garden Club and Ladies Auxiliary of DAV, VFW and American Legion. She was preceded in death by her husbands N.O. Whiting and Joe Bownds. She is survived by her daughters, Carmen Strong and Connie May and husband Steve both of Weatherford; grandchildren, Melissa May Sanders of Amarillo, Robin DeHart of Weatherford and Donovan Johnson of Weatherford; great grandchildren, Sean, Travis, Tyler and Ali. Graveside service: 2 PM, Wednesday, September 13, 2006 in the Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Galbreaith Pickard in charge of arrangements.
