Weatherford, Texas - C. B. Smith, age 94, died March 17, 2019.
C. B. is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Rodney Sinclair; his daughter, Deborah Smith and partner, Shamen Sell; five grandchildren, Chris and Meryame Daniel; Erin Hedges; Amber and Brandon Harwell; Bradley Hedges; and Nicki Daniel; and three great-grandchildren, Adam and Sarah Daniel and Willow Harwell. He is preceded in death by his sister, Lonita Hudson and brother, Henry Smith.
C. B. was born on March 28, 1924 in Munday, Texas to his parents, Charles Marvin and Tolly Belle Smith.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, AnnaMaria Smith, whom he had married in 1956 while stationed in Germany with the U.S. Air Force. C. B. is a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, where he earned several medals. C. B. served twenty years in the armed forces, serving in the Navy for four years and the Air Force for sixteen years. He retired from the service in 1967. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the service never left him. After retirement, C. B. began a career in truck driving and retired in 1980. He was never satisfied with retirement and continued to work well into his 80’s as a bus driver for many school districts.
There will be a memorial for C. B. on March 30, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel in Weatherford, TX. All are welcome to attend and celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
