Cecil L. Scarbrough

Cecil Leon Scarbrough, 74, of Weatherford passed away Monday, October 3, 2011.  Cecil was born May 5, 1937 in Brock Texas to Martha and Ernest Scarbrough.  He was a resident of Weatherford the past 13 years.

Cecil attended school in Brock and graduated from Weatherford High School before enlisting in the Air Force.  He and his wife, Shirley, married December 1, 1961 and soon after moved to Fontana, California where they raised their family.  Cecil retired from Sparklett’s Drinking Water and the couple returned to Weatherford.

Mr. Scarbrough was a Mason and member of Olive Branch Lodge #792.  He was also a member of First Baptist Church in Weatherford.

Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Geneva Nicholson and a brother, Hershel Scarbrough.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley; daughter, Gail L. Newton and her husband, John of Lewisville; son, Jason L. Scarbrough and wife, Erika of El Cajon, CA; grandchildren, Wyatt L. Newton, Kailey L. Newton, Justin L. Scarbrough, Paige E. Scarbrough and Faith A. Scarbrough; sisters, Juanita Harrison of Brock, Oleta Bloodworth and Margarette Noe-Overton both of Weatherford.

A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Friday at First Baptist Church in Weatherford.  Visitation is from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Brock Cemetery.
