Charles "Bryan" Sims

Charles “Bryan” Sims, 58, passed from this life on Friday, April 7, 2023. Bryan was born November 6, 1964, in Weatherford, Texas to Charles Sims and Gloria Pritchett. Bryan proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Bryan worked his way to becoming and retiring as the Executive Director of Enterprise Development at the University of Texas at Arlington. He was also a former Peaster ISD School Board member. He enjoyed working with his hands and built his three daughters a beautiful home along with his wife and “sous builder,” Myra. Bryan and Myra spent their lives together and were looking forward to their 40th wedding anniversary this June. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, and camping, but mostly Bryan was all about his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Bryan is survived by his beloved wife, Myra Elizabeth Mae Sims of Peaster, TX; 3 daughters, Cortney Roseberry (Husband Matt) of Boyd, TX, Meagan Benson (Husband Tyler) of Galveston, TX, and Casey Samano (Husband Mike) of Upton, MA; 6 grandchildren, Jack, Nora, Clarke, Lucas, Parker, and Isaac; father, Charles Lewis Sims (Wife Melaine) of Santo, TX; mother, Gloria Ann Pritchett (Husband Richard) of Granbury, TX; 5 siblings, Wesley Sims of Lone Camp, TX, Melanie Gilbert of Granbury, TX, Kelly Sims of Bastrop, TX, Cody Carter of San Antonio, TX, and Celeste McCauley of Lone Camp, TX; and many loving friends.

Visitation is scheduled from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 14, 2023, at the North Side Baptist Church, 910 N. Main Street, Weatherford, Texas, officiated by Pastor Terry Keeling.
