Charles Ray "Chalk" Drew, Sr., passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at the age of 93. Born on January 6, 1931, in Minco, Oklahoma, to the late James "Gib" Drew and Isabelle "Belle" Schumacher Drew, Chalk led a life marked by dedication and love. He was predeceased in death by his beloved wife, Alice Jean Drew, and three siblings.
In his youth, Chalk demonstrated his patriotism by serving in the National Guard. His commitment to excellence was further showcased in his 44-year tenure as a machinist at Lockheed Martin until his well-deserved retirement. A member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Chalk's faith and values were central to his being.
Among his cherished pastimes, Quail and Pheasant hunting with his dogs and boys, and later in retirement, fishing in Alaska every summer on the Keni River, brought him joy and peace that will be remembered fondly.
Chalk's legacy lives on through his two sons: Charles R. "Rocky" Drew, Jr. and wife, Carmen, and "Lucky" Ulman James Drew and wife, Janet; as well as his 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his memory with love and gratitude.
A visitation to honor Chalk's life will be hosted at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in Weatherford on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
