Charles F. "Rick" Merritt

Charles Fredrick “Rick” Merritt, Jr, 73, of Weatherford passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017. Rick was born December 19, 1943 in Weatherford to Charles and Mary Gardner Merritt. Rick owned Merritt Feed for 40 years and was a Fleet Driver for Jerry’s Chevrolet. He was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church and a member of the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse for over 50 years, serving as Captain in 1987. He also served in the United States Army. Rick was preceded in death by his parents and one great granddaughter, Madisynn Edwards.
Rick is survived by Daughter Wendy Edwards and husband Troy of Royse City, Melinda Fowler and husband David of Chico; Sister Marcia Maitin and husband Chris of Collierville, TN; Grandchildren: Lorynne Ellington and husband William, Chase Edwards and Hutcheson Cheyne; Great Grandson Wyatt Ellington.
Services for Rick will held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, March 25 at Greenwood Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 Friday evening at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
