Charles "Fred" Cowles

Charles “Fred” Cowles, 85, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2008. Fred was born August 12, 1922 in Retrop, Oklahoma to Henry VanMeter and Jeanny Geneva Hand Cowles. Fred owned and operated a peach orchard west of Weatherford in the Greenwood Community. He was a member of the Parker County Peach Growers Association, Weatherford Melon Busters and a member of Couts Memorial United Methodist Church for over 40 years.

Survivors: sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell and Belinda Cowles of Watauga, Bruce and Laura Cowles of Fort Worth and Brent and Violet Cowles of Waveland, MS; brother and sister-in-law, Wendall and Crawford Cowles of Saginaw; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Funeral services      10 AM Saturday, July 26th at Couts Memorial United Methodist Church.
Visitation        6 PM to 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
Burial           Greenwood Community Cemetery.

A kind and gentle man loved by many and will be missed by all.
