Charles K. Brashier passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021, at Holland Lake Nursing Home, Weatherford, Texas. Funeral service will be held at Victory Baptist Church, 1311 E. Bankhead Drive, Weatherford, Texas, at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, April 15. Visitation will be an hour before the funeral at the church. Burial will be private at Laurel Land Cemetery, in Fort Worth.
Charles was born May 17, 1934, in Westbrook, Mitchell County, Texas, to Clint and Ruby Brashier, and older brother, Bill. They soon moved to Peaster, Texas, where they were joined by two more children, James and Mary.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; sister-in-law, Valerie Brashier; and brother-in-law, Robert Van Zandt.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years; daughter, Susan and her husband, Kenneth Holcomb of Fort Worth; son, Terry and his wife, Mary of Spring, Texas; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren, one niece, and two nephews.
Charles married Florene Baxter in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army, from 1955-1959. He worked as a dental lab technician and was owner of Brashier Crown and Bridge Dental Lab in Fort Worth. When he retired, Charles and Florene moved to Weatherford and took up square dancing. He also grew a big garden and gave vegetables to friends and Meals on Wheels clients for ten years. Charles enjoyed making jewelry out of gold and silver in addition making other crafts out of woods and metals. He was long-time member of Victory Baptist Church in Weatherford where he served as a Deacon and Usher.
Charles had a stroke in December 2009. He was unable to communicate well since the stoke, but was able to live at home until the last two weeks of his life.
