Cheryl Ann Grimes Kennington

Cheryl Ann Grimes Kennington, of Weatherford, passed away peacefully Monday, July 2, 2007, surrounded by loving family and friends. Cheryl was born March 11, 1945, in Roswell, N.M. Her giving spirit touched many lives. She loved the Christmas season, decorating her home, finding the perfect gifts for every memeber of her family and, most of all, opening her heart to the children who just needed to know that someone loved them. She tirelessly gave of herself in her various jobs over the years, making lasting friends along the way. She will be dearly missed by all. Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Shelley Walton Grimes of Morton; mother, Eudora Aydelotte Grimes of Portales, N.M.; and brother, James Hyatt of Colorado. Survivors: Her loving husband of 25 years, Ken Kennington, brothers, Marshall Grimes of Springfield, Ill., Ellis Grimes of Waller and Billy Hyatt of Las Vegas, Nev.; children, Melisa Shaw Ashford, Melinda Shaw Beard and James Kennington, all of Weatherford, Anna Kennington of Dallas and Michael Kennington of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Rocky Castro, Robert Ashford, Lauren Beard and Katherine Beard, all of Weatherford, Katherine Kennington, Hailey Kennington and Sammy Bailey; and great-grandson, Devon Wilson, all of Granbury. Service: As Cheryl requested, the family will hold a celebration of life service in her honor.
