On January 7, 2023, Cheryl Cabal departed this life to be with Jesus Christ her Savior. Jesus’ light shined through her life even to its end, as she remained cheerful and thoughtful through a yearlong fight with cancer. Cheri sweetened the lives of everyone she met — no wonder people nicknamed her “Honey!”
A proud Texan born there on July 22, 1956, Cheri was blessed with a magnetic personality and a singing voice which could bring people to tears of joy. Classically trained in music, she earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and went on to serve children and families as an adored schoolteacher and pastor’s wife. In retirement she devoted herself to loving student & faculty wives at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
The world is a better place because of Cheri, a beauty who beautified. She enhanced God’s creation through decorating people’s houses into homes, giving treasured gifts, and of course, sharing barbecue.
Cheri felt her highest calling to be wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived, loved, and deeply missed by her husband Ted, three sons Daniel (Mendy), David (Rachel), and John (Brooke), eleven grandchildren, her sister Cathy (Frank), and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Her parents Bob and Velma Bush preceded her to Heaven, where Cheri sings anew!
