Cheryl J. Lewis

Cheryl Jeanine Lewis, 69, of Weatherford, Texas, beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend passed away early Wednesday April 19, 2023, at her home in the care of family. A viewing will be held April 21 at 3pm at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Home.

Cheryl was born February 21, 1954, in Amarillo, Texas. She graduated with honors from Caprock High School where she excelled in class work and was inducted into the National Honor Society. While a student she volunteered as a candy striper spending many hours at Amarillo Osteopathic Hospital.

Cheryl continued her commitment to service to others following graduation with a Master’s degree in the Science of Social Work from the University of Texas, Arlington. For many years she worked tirelessly as a child support officer for the State of Texas Attorney General.

In retirement Cheryl enjoyed family and friends, along with cross stitch, puzzling, kayaking, and camping. Cheryl and her husband Gordon spent many summer vacations camping in Red River, New Mexico.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Lewis, and her parents, Weldon and Annie Malone.

Cheryl is survived by her sister, Barbara A. Roberts; brother, Thomas Malone and wife, Karen; sister, Sue England and husband, Bill; brother, Ronald Malone and wife, Carrie; and many loving family and friends.
