Ram Dass once said, “We are all just walking each other home.” However none of us expected Christy to wave good-bye so soon.
Christine “Christy” Schneider, 44, beloved wife, mother and daughter, of Weatherford Texas, stepped through the veil on Wednesday, December 2, 2020.
Christy was born in Stanford, California November 19, 1976 but grew up in Weatherford. After graduating from WHS she moved to Denton to attend UNT. It was there that she met the man she would spend her life with. Christy married Larry Schneider and returned to Weatherford to begin their family. Together they had three children, Danielle, Alexander, and Adam.
Christy followed in her Father’s footsteps and was employed with The Army Corps of Engineers, where she brought compassion and intelligence to sometimes difficult situations. She was a member of St. Frances Episcopal Church, in Willow Park.
Christy enjoyed reading, poetry, and participating in numerous charitable organizations. She was an excellent cook – and was particularly known for her apple pies. No one that knew Christy will ever forget her laugh, it was so loud and so often, it is probably still echoing around the world in places. So if you happen to be out walking and hear an extremely loud ‘HA!’ know that is our Christy reminding us to embrace the joy this world has to offer. Christy will be remembered for being a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter and aunt.
Christy is survived by her husband, Larry; her children, Danielle, Alexander, and Adam Schneider; her parents, James and Glinda Wengier; her sisters, Deanna Mehaffey and Cheri Scott; stepsisters, Julia Fant and Rachel Craig; and stepbrother, James M. Wengier; her soul sister, Melanie Hardage; nephews, London, Logan, Aidan, and Devon; and nieces, Paris, Grace, Emma, Lauren, and Katie.
The funeral service will be private, However, a graveside committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, December 7, at East Greenwood Cemetery, in Weatherford for all who wish to pay respects.
The family requests that masks be worn and that all that attend be mindful of Covid precautions.
