Clara White

CLARA M. WHITE
Clara White, 88, died on January 25, 2011 in Weatherford, Texas. She was a former long-time resident of Baird, Texas. She was born on November 26, 1922 in Sarepta, Louisiana to Gent "Bud" and Lillie Martin. After graduating high school in Sarepta, she worked at the local paper mill. She married Jack O. White and eventually moved to Baird for his job at the Premier Refinery plant. Clara worked at the local ASCS federal office as well as the Baird Co-Op and the City of Baird. Together, they raised three children who attended Baird schools. Clara loved to read and play cards. She was a member of several local clubs in Baird including the Eastern Star. Her husband was a Mason for many years. They were members of Baird Church of Christ. Clara was loved by family and many friends and was known for her home-baked pies. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack White, her grandson Adam Rowe, her parents Bud and Lillie Martin, and her brother Donald Martin.
 
Survivors include her sister, Margene Temple; niece, Marla Temple both of San Antonio; daughters: Kerry Townley of Rowlett, TX, and Cindy Rowe and husband Don of McKinney, TX; son, Jack White and wife Barbara of Weatherford, TX; six grandchildren, Kristy Caraway, Kelly Abeyta, Kyle Townley, Ashley Keller, Brittany and Austin White; and five great grandchildren.
 
 
A graveside ceremony will be held at 3 PM Sunday, February 27, 2011 in the Old Sarepta Baptist Church cemetery where she will be buried next to her husband in the Martin-Denmon family plot.
