Clyde Dean Spivey

Clyde Dean Spivey, 64, of Weatherford, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2012, at home surrounded by family and friends. Dean was born on December 28, 1947, in Weatherford.  He graduated from Weatherford High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Abilene Christian University in 1970.  Dean married Theresa McMahon Spivey on December 21, 1968. After 31 years of service, Dean retired from Weatherford High School in 2001, as an ICT coordinator and Woodshop teacher.  During his years at Weatherford High School, he also coached football, golf and track.  Dean was an active member and deacon at South Main Church of Christ.  Dean enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting, fishing, watching sports, and spending time with family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, Claud Spivey, Sr., and his mother, Edna Spivey, and survived by his wife, Theresa Spivey, one daughter and son-in-law, Traci and Chris Hibbetts, one son and daughter-in-law, Toby and Tyler Spivey, one brother and sister-in-law, Claud and Helen Spivey, one sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Bill Thoma, two nieces, Tonya VanLoh and husband Cary of Weatherford and Melissa Brown and husband Andy of Richardson, and two nephews, Spencer Spivey and wife Diane of Weatherford and Joe Thoma and wife Mary of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, in addition to the following great nieces and nephews: Taylor and Kylee VanLoh, Zane, Vander and Arden Brown, Preston and Parker Spivey and Olivia and Isabele Thoma.

Funeral service: Monday, April 30, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the South Main Church of Christ in Weatherford with burial following at the Tin Top Cemetery.  Family visitation: April 29, 2012, Sunday afternoon, from 3-5 p.m.
