Cora Louise Jackson

Cora Louise Jackson, 98, formerly of Weatherford, passed away Wednesday evening, July 15, 2020, in Austin, Texas.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at 10:00 A.M., at the Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Home, 913 N. Elm Street in Weatherford. Burial will follow at Aldo-Brown Cemetery.

Louise was born in Aledo, Texas, June 27, 1922, as one of four children of James Turner Sanford and Ida Greenfield. She grew up and graduated from high school in Aledo. On November 28, 1958, she married Henry Junior Jackson of Winnsboro, Texas. They lived in Fort Worth before moving to Weatherford in 1971. Louise worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell, retiring in 1982. Henry was a mechanic for the Union Pacific Railroad until he retired in 1991.

Louise and Henry were members of the Victory Baptist Church in Weatherford where they made many dear friends. They also volunteered with Parker County Committee on Aging, delivering meals to the homebound. Louise was a devoted wife and a caring friend.

Louise is survived by her husband Henry, sister Betty Schulze, nieces Carolyn Bivens and Suzanne Lain, and nephews Frank and Alfred Schulze.

In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her brother J.T. Greenfield and her sister Alma Frances Evans.
