Cora "Sue" Brinkley

July 26, 1922 — November 5, 2022

Centenarian Cora Sue Brinkley passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, November 5, 2022. Sue achieved the title of Centenarian when she celebrated 100 years on July 26, while living in Abilene, Texas.

The following was written by her:

I was born Cora Sue Hutchins July 26, 1922, in a log cabin outside of Weatherford, Texas. I was raised on a farm several miles north of the Shady Grove Church. My parents were Pascal Hutchins and Callie Frazier. I had three brothers and four sisters; one sister is still living at 103.

I grew up in the community of Mt. Carmel and Shady Grove. Both churches back then were just small, one-room buildings. I went to school at Mt. Grove and I am still a member of Shady Grove Church. Those days were precious to me - happiness and togetherness with family and church family. The days when neighbors helped neighbors.

I have one daughter, one stepson, two grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. Two grandsons are waiting for me in heaven.

I have had a good life, now I am enjoying a perfect one.

Meet me in heaven,

Sue
