Daniel “Danny” D. Heiliger, 70, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday morning, January 29, 2014.
Danny was born December 23, 1943, to William “Bill” and Nellie Heiliger, in Hinton, OK. He married his high school sweetheart, Joy McCallister, in Fort Worth in June 1963. Born to this blessed union were a son, David Daniel and a daughter, Wendy Lynn.
Danny made his life-long career as an electrician where he has worked on many projects from local hospitals, convention centers and assembly plants to refineries. He also owned a construction business where he built over a dozen homes around town. Most of his career was spent as a union electrician with IBEW Local Union 116 in Fort Worth. “Dancin’ Dan Heiliger” left a legacy as a gifted tradesman, a practical joker and is a very well-respected man and friend.
Danny claimed to have had a good life and among all of his accomplishments, he is most proud and honored that he married the love of his life. His greatest legacy was the love that he left for her. He will be missed greatly and his passing will leave a deep hole in the hearts of many. We will all remember his passionate conversations about politics, his cantor and jokes he loved to tell and play. He loved sharing his trade and his wisdom with his children and grandchildren. Danny was preceded in death by his parents; his oldest brother, Buddy; and his grandson, Tyler. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 50 years, Joy; his son, David, wife Michelle; and daughter, Wendy. Grandchildren Zachary David Heiliger and Jordan Cooke and grand dog, Sabine, as well as many family and friends.
