Daniel Perez

Daniel Perez was one of the last of ”The Greatest Generation.” He died peacefully in his home on September 1, 2017, at the age of 91. He was born in San Angelo, Texas on July 1, 1926. Daniel was a beloved husband, exceptional father, patriot, and U.S.A.F veteran of WWII, the Korean and the Vietnam Wars. In 1941, the 15-year-old Galveston, Texas boy joined the Army Air Corps to serve his country. At 18 he flew 35 combat missions as a B-17 Flight Engineer-Gunner with the 15th Air Force in the European Theatre. After the war he returned to Galveston to marry the girl of his dreams, Aida Ponce. Together they travelled the world. At his first station with his wife in Munich, Germany, Deanna, Daniel, Dalya and Dennis were born. Later, Danette and Darrin were born at Air Force bases in Texas. He also served in Okinawa, South Carolina, Maine and then Italy where he retired after 32 years of service. He designed flight simulators for the General Dynamics F-16 program as part of his second career. We give a final salute to our Father!

Daniel is survived by his sister Herminia “Minnie” Perez Serigny, five children, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service 10:00am Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Interment 1:15pm Thursday at DFW National Cemetery.
