Danis Sue Masters

March 5, 1960 — July 28, 2024

Mrs. Danis Masters, age 64, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, July 28, 2024. She was born on March 5, 1960, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Marion D. Whitaker and Bethie (Lindsey) Whitaker. Danis led a vibrant life. Notably, she played the hand bells in the choir at University Baptist Church in Fort Worth and later at First Baptist Church Dennis. 

Following the attainment of her bachelor's degree, Danis dedicated herself to raising three children and later, a fulfilling career in Weatherford College’s Registrar's Office. Outside of work, she found joy in gardening, theater performances, music, and cherished trips to the ocean. Her role as a loving grandmother earned her the endearing title of Nonna; Danis always put her children and grandchildren first. 

Danis was preceded in death by her father, Marion D. Whitaker.

Danis is survived by her husband, Mark F. Masters of Weatherford, Texas; her children, Cayla Richey with son-in-law, Marcus Richey, Andrew Masters with daughter-in-law, Danielle Masters, all residing in Weatherford, Texas; Rachel Asava with son-in-law, Ashvin Asava, from Southlake, Texas; and her adored grandchildren, Brinley Richey, Reagan Richey, Emersyn Richey, Preston Richey, Diana Masters, Bonnie Jo Masters, and Susanna Masters. She is also survived by her mother, Bethie S. Whitaker. 

A ceremony to honor Danis' life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 3, 2024, at First Baptist Church Dennis, 7600 FM 1189, Dennis, Texas 76439. The service will be officiated by Rev. Danny Shearman. 

Her body will be laid to rest at Memory Gardens Cemetery, located west of Weatherford. 

Danis will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family and her passion for life's simple pleasures. May she rest in peace.
