Darla Ann Yarborough Caughman, our loving wife, mom and Ganma, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 8, 2016. Darla was born the beloved only child of Woodrow W. Yarborough and Inez Mullens Yarborough on August 18, 1945 in Weatherford, Texas. She married the love of her life, Bob Lee Caughman, on January 22, 1962 and together created a wonderful life with three beautiful daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Darla was an active member of the Weatherford Community. She served for many years for many different organizations such as Travis PTA, Parker County Girl Scouts, Weatherford High School Band and Choir Boosters, and NSBC Youth Choir to name a few. Darla began her 23 years of public school service as the original secretary at the P.A.S.S. campus. She loved the staff and the many students of this great program and remained with the program until her retirement. Darla was a life-long member of North Side Baptist Church, but loved many local congregations such as Calvary Methodist Church and Center Point Baptist.
Darla will be mostly remembered for her ability to serve others. The driving force of her servant’s heart stemmed from her love for her family and friends. Luke 12:34 states, “Your heart will always be where your treasure is.” Darla’s heart will always remain with her devoted love, Bob , and her three girls Dee, Kathy, and Kara; her loving sons-in-law, Mike, Jerry, and Jeff; and her grandbabies that were the light of her world, Keith, Amanda, Kody, Garrett, Troy, Lukas, Kyle, Madeline, and Chase; and her great-grandbabies that were the icing on the cake, Mat, Clara, Jacob, and Faith.
A Celebration of Life will be held 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 10 at North Side Baptist Church.
