Darlene Young

Darlene Blair Young of Weatherford, Texas, was born on March 6, 1942 in Grandfield, Oklahoma to Bill and Zeolah Blair. She passed away September 10, 2016 at the age of 74. Darlene was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Darlene is a member of Victory Baptist Church. She expressed to her family that God had richly blessed her with a full life and was secure in her salvation.

Darlene is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, a sister and step-daughter, Robin Young. Survivors include her husband, James Young; brother and sister-in-law Melvyn and Melba Blair; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Nancy and Calvin Cearley; children, Terry Ray, Debbie Newberry and husband Roger; stepson Alan Young and wife Janet. Grandchildren: Tara, Wesley, Shelby, Harrison, Amanda, Brittany, Alan Jr., David, and Stephany. Great-grandchildren: Chance, Brittany, Bryson, Landon, Raegan; and numerous other family and friends.

Funeral Services for Darlene will be conducted Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Victory Baptist Church with Dr. Charles Wetherbee officiating. Visitation will be at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel Monday, September 12th 6-8 PM. She will be laid to rest at Tin Top Cemetery.
