Surrounded by family and friends, David W. Milton, 67, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 11, 2007. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, beloved brother, cherished grandfather and eternal friend to everyone he ever met. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 10 a.m. Monday at Aledo United Methodist Church, 100 Pecan Street, Aledo, Texas. BURIAL: Center Point Cemetery, Center Point, Texas. David Milton was born in Kerrville, Texas on January 4, 1940 to Clayton and Bettye Milton and grew up in Center Point, Texas. After graduating with a degree in Journalism from Texas Christian University, he worked as a journalist for several trade publications. He married his wife, Barbara, on December 12, 1981. They reside in Aledo. David was a life-long sports fan and especially loved baseball. He successfully coached both Little League and Pony League baseball teams even reaching the World Series in St. Louis, MO. He faithfully followed the Texas Rangers, TCU Horned Frogs, Aledo Bearcats, and his grandchildren’s teams. He was also a passionate Aledo Bearcat football fan and rarely missed a football game during the 34 years he resided in Aledo. David Milton was also deeply dedicated to Community Christian Church in Aledo having been one of its founding members. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting. He was also deeply committed to helping others, including volunteering for the Center of Hope in Aledo and working with Aledo Athletics. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Lorraine Milton, and his grandson, Isaac Milton. SURVIVORS: Wife, Barbara Milton; daughter, Melissa Snow and her husband, Charles; sons, Randy Hargrove and his wife, Laurie, Craig Hargrove and his wife, Lauri, and Steve Milton and his wife, Joy; grandchildren, Wesley and Patrick Snow, Ryan and Avery Hargrove, Sydney and Emily Hargrove, Mallory and Landon Rogers, and Zachary and Emma Milton; sisters, Kathy Stevens and her husband, Chester, and Beverly Dye and her husband, Lewis; and brother, Phillip Milton and his wife, Laurie. He will also be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews and friends.
