David Leon Worden

  David Leon Worden passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, at the age of 58. He was born on December 7, 1966, in Weatherford, Texas, to James Leon Worden and Elizabeth Merle (Rhoads) Worden. 

  David proudly served his country in the United States Army for four years, followed by a term in the National Guard. He later worked as a railroad engineer for BNSF and the FWWR. His passion for trains extended beyond his career, and he enjoyed researching and collecting model railroad sets. He also had a keen interest in weather forecasting and was known for often predicting the weather more accurately than the professionals. 

  David was preceded in death by his father, James L. Worden. 

  He is survived by his loving wife, Gena (Wilson) Worden of Weatherford; his son, James D. Worden and wife, Joy; and his cherished granddaughter, Rebekah Worden. He is also survived by his mother, Merle Worden of Edgefield, South Carolina; his brother, Tim Worden and wife, Polly; and his sister, Tamara Glass and husband, Paul. 

  At this time, no formal services are scheduled.
