Debbie Turner, 67, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021 in a Dallas hospital. Debbie was born September 3, 1953 in Tulia, Texas to Wiley and Barbara Hicks Cope. She was a member of North Side Baptist Church and a 17-year member and group leader of Bible Study Fellowship. Debbie was a devoted wife first and foremost, as well as a dedicated mother that treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially cherished her grandchildren and absolutely loved her role as Doda.
Debbie will be remembered for her affectionate personality, willingness to lend a helping hand as well as her wise words and life lessons. No matter what life threw her way, she never lost her determination and stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly looks like.
Debbie is survived by her loving husband of 49½ year, Tommy Turner of Weatherford; daughter, Stacy Morris and husband, Daren of Amarillo; son, Roudy Turner and wife, Melody of Weatherford; grandchildren, Deegan and Dillon Morris, and Jabrett, Maelie, and Makenna Turner; mother-in-law, Norma Scott of San Angelo; sisters-in-law, Judy Rivers of Longview, Barbara Self of Amarillo and Linda Steele of Abilene; brother, Warren Cope; multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as a host of church family and longtime friends.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 22, 2021, at North Side Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 23, 2021, at North Side Baptist Church, with a committal service to follow at Spring Creek Cemetery.
