Debra Faye Hawkins Kemp of Hudson Oaks, Texas, passed away on December 15, 2024, after a short hospitalization. Debbie was born on May 7, 1956, to Ruth and Charles Hawkins, in Irumagawa, in Honshu, Japan, while her father was stationed at Johnson Air Force Base. Being a United States Air Force family, they lived in various places around the country, including Texas, Georgia, and South Carolina.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Danny Clark, of Hudson Oaks; and her daughter, Amber Williams, who lives in Illinois; and Amber’s two daughters, Abagail Giordano and Emily Smith, both of New York. Along with her two granddaughters, Debbie had one great-granddaughter, Adeline Giordano. Debbie is also survived by her brother, Randy; and her four nieces, Shannon Carufe, Melanie Martin, Bonnie Cave, and Meredith McCurry; and eight great-nieces and nephews.
Debbie tremendously enjoyed being around people and never met a stranger. She loved socializing in person, on social media, and always took the initiative to keep in touch with loved ones. She was an accomplished quilter and created many beautiful heirlooms. She adored her Scottie dog and all her other pets through the years.
Debbie bravely faced her parents’ deaths as she was dealing with her own liver disease. She stoically endured the complications and side effects of this illness, and eventually had a liver transplant about a year ago. Sadly, her compromised immune system was overwhelmed with an unknown bacterial infection, and she was unable to recover from it.
A memorial service for Debbie will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas.
