Emblem

Derryl Wayne Rowe passed away peacefully at home at age 66, Friday, April 22, 2022.

He loved his family and friends dearly, and his generous character and sharp wit made it easy for others to love him back.

Derryl was born April 28, 1955, in Terrell, Texas, to Jesse Rowe and Clara Smith. After spending his childhood in Terrell, Derryl joined the U.S. Navy and served his country honorably in his younger years.

After his service to the country, he was in the trucking industry as a truck driver for numerous years. He treasured meeting and visiting with fellow truck drivers and friends at truck stops.

In his retirement years, he loved the hustle of scrapping metal because he enjoyed helping people, working with hands and making others laugh. However, he is most remembered as a loving father. He loved his family and friends, and he will be missed dearly by all.

Derryl was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Kenneth Rowe and Ronald Rowe.

Derryl is survived by his wife, Darlene Rowe; daughter, Jacquelyn Donaldson and son-in-law, Steven Donaldson. He is also survived by sister, Dona Rowe; and two brothers, Jesse Rowe and Gary Rowe and wife, Vickie. He loved his two grandchildren, Steven Donaldson and Clara Donaldson, and enjoyed making special memories with them. He also leaves behind his best friend of several years, Marg Weems; his nieces, nephews, and many friends.
