DeWayne Clay Bridge, 63, of Weatherford, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 6, 2018, near Houston.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday, October 12, at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8, Thursday evening, at the funeral home.
DeWayne was born May 16, 1955, in Spur Texas to William Jesse and Betty Jean Bridge. He married Mildred Lynn Vickrey on May 25, 1974 and together had three children. DeWayne currently worked at Universal Plant Industrial Services but through-out his career was employed by multiple specialty welding companies as a welder and Quality Control Inspector. He was a member of the American Welder’s Society and held a Certified Welder’s Inspector Certification for 23 years. He enjoyed traveling the country with his wife. DeWayne will be remembered for his ‘dry’ sense of humor and for his hard work. He will be affectionately remembered for being a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who was “loved by all.”
DeWayne is survived by his wife, Mildred; his children, Clinton Bridge, Bevin (Jason) Phillips, Amy (Justin) Wallace; his grandchildren, Phillip, Garrett, Levi, Lael, Brynn, Aiden, and Landon; by his sister, Binky Hughes; brother, Alex (Cindy) Bridge; and by his sister-in-law, Margie Bridge.
In addition to his parents, DeWayne was preceded in death his brother, Rodney.
