Dixie Ileen Lewallen

Dixie Ileen Lewallen, age 89, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019 in a local nursing facility. A visitation will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel with the funeral service following at 2 pm. Ileen was born May 5, 1929 in Iredell, TX to Frank and Cordillia Carroll Bates. She was a crossing guard for Weatherford ISD and member of the Church of Christ.
Ileen loved animals, enjoyed taking care of her family and being a loving grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 61 years A.D. Lewallen and her sister, Geraldine Bakke. Ileen is survived by her daughter, Betty Smalley and husband Freeman; son, Milton Lewallen and wife Jenny; grandchildren, Jason Lewallen and wife Willa, Shelley Staten and husband Mike, Dustin Sharp and wife Samantha, Carin Hotman and husband Brian and Rachel Sanchez and husband Sammy along with 8 great grandchildren.
The family would also like to thank Hilltop Park and Envoy Hospice for helping to care for our mother.
