Don Larue Torbett

Don LaRue Torbett, 81, Our dad passed away on Wednesday morning, December 7, 2016, joining Mom in eternity after sharing 52 years together in marriage on Earth & being blessed with 3 children & 4 grandchildren. Dad retired from the US Postal System as a city carrier. Dad was a hard working individual, had a servant's heart & loved to drive up until a stroke change that. His family were the recipients of that love of driving and were blessed to see much of the USA via an automobile. Many places visited were places in which we had extended family.

Missing him and cherishing those memories are his 2 daughters: Donna Montgomery and her children, Afton and Blake Montgomery and Vickie and Don Sherman and their daughters, Brooke & Adrianne Sherman. He is also survived by his older brother, Waymond and wife Wanda, sisters and brothers in law and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death is his son, Jerry, his parents, and sister Audrey Kilgo.

A celebration of his life and memorial service will be Friday, December 9th at 1p.m, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Family Visitation will be Thursday evening before from 5-7. In lieu of flowers, please honor Don with a donation to Meals on Wheels of Parker County or your favorite charity.
