Donald Edward Davis was born in Briar, Texas, on September 19, 1957. He was given to this world through Genie Brister and Joel Garcia, and was lovingly raised by Alfred and Ellen Davis. Donald was raised on a dairy farm in Briar, Texas. Donald had a love for high performance engines and even more a love for God.
He held a special and unique knowledge of tractors, so much so that he overhauled an 8N engine when he was only five years old and later went on to open his own tractor shop. He opened Shade Tree Mechanics in 1978 and held many businesses for over 40 years, where many relationships were cultivated and nurtured throughout that time.
Donald was preceded in death by his biological parents, Eugenia and Joel; and his adoptive parents, Al and Ellen; along with his sister, Kathy.
He is survived by his wife, Tamara; and sons, Clint Davis, Garrett and wife, Courtney Davis, Cy McPherson and fiancé, Samantha, and Jason McPherson; grandchildren, Macy, Jude, Silas, Titus, James, Anabelle, Timothy, and Peter; brothers, Roger Davis and wife, Sherry, and their children, Tracy and Michael Wright, and Laura and Bobby Temple, and Matt and Natalie Davis; Donnie Garcia and wife, Vicki, and child, Briel; Glenn Garcia and wife, Georgia, and their children, Chloe, Macey, and Briton; nephew, Scott Casey; niece, Katherine Daniels; and numerous other nieces and nephews, and many friends who he was honored to know.
The amount of people whom Donald had an impact on in this world is innumerable.
Donald loved Jesus. And he loved telling others about Jesus and lived his everyday life with the goal to show Jesus' love to others. Donald started preaching when he was 12 years old and continued until his death at 66 years old.
