Donald Eugene Kuykendall

Donald Eugene Kuykendall, 87, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away on October 21, 2023. He was born on May 8, 1936, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Donald was an outdoorsman, sports enthusiast, and a devoted family man. He enjoyed road trips, reading western novels and outdoor magazines, as well as listening to blues and bluegrass music.

Donald is survived by his loving wife, Leann; his son, Roy and wife, Karen of Weatherford, Texas; his daughter, Teena Roberts and husband, Lee of Springtown, Texas; his brother, Ronald and wife, Sherlyn of Petersburg, Texas; as well as 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Andrew Kuykendall, and mother, Edith Lois Ashbrook.

Donald's educational journey began at Holliday, Texas primary school and he later graduated from Holliday High School in 1954. He furthered his education at the Texas Department of Public Safety, graduating in 1966. Donald moved to Weatherford, Texas in 1972. Throughout his career, Donald worked as an oilfield roughneck, a Texas Highway Patrol officer, and a steel pipe yard and truck driver. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and following his grandchildren's sporting activities.

No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association and Alzheimer’s Association.

The Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in Weatherford, Texas, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
