Donald Edward Martin

Donald Edward Martin, age 63, passed from this life on Monday, September 2, 2024. Born on June 7, 1961, in Graettinger, Iowa, Don was the cherished son of the late James Martin and Alice (Fogarty) Martin.

Don dedicated over 30 years of his life to serving in the fire service. He was a proud member of the Mountain View Professional Firefighters, Local #3214, serving with honor in Northern Colorado, before retiring as a lieutenant.

Don embraced the opportunity to spend time with his family. He enjoyed a quiet evening at home with his wife, rowdy moments with his kids and grandkids, and Fogarty Family Reunions. After retiring from the fire service, he also took joy in his work as an equine technician at Palo Pinto Veterinary Clinic. Don pursued his past times, which included hunting, fishing, and flying as a private pilot. He would be proud to tell you he could fly over the mountains and through the clouds as an instrument-rated pilot.

Don's legacy lives on through his loving wife, Candilece Martin; son, Tyler Martin and his wife, Gabrielle, and their children, Lachlan Martin, and a granddaughter expected in October; daughter, Cassandra Lee and her husband, Kolby, and their son, Kash Lee; and his fire family. His nieces and nephews all held a very dear place in his heart. 

A memorial service to honor Don will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas. 

Don will be remembered for his love for his family, dedication, and the loyalty he brought to those around him.
