Donnie Joe Duffey, 70, of Weatherford, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 22, 2016 after a long illness. Funeral will be held at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in DFW National Cemetery. Donnie was born October 9, 1946 in Clarksville, Texas to Lloyd and Ebbie McPeak Duffey. He honorably served his country as a member of the Army and was awarded a purple heart for injuries he received during his tour in Vietnam. After leaving the army, he had a career as a supervisor for Southwestern Bell, retiring after 35 years. After his retirement he began working for the VA Medical Center in Big Spring, TX and retired from there in 2005. Donnie enjoyed fishing and loved to sing. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Nathan Townsley. Survivors are his wife of 48 years, Linda; his daughter, Kimberly Boling and husband Brant, their children Kendalyne Boling, Bradon Boling, and Karissa Boling, all of Aledo; his son,Timothy Duffey of Big Spring; and his daughter Stormie McMahan and husband Mitchell and great grandson, Ryan James McMahan, all of Midland; siblings, Barbara Morman and husband Bobby of Lubbock, Wayne Duffey and wife Peggy of Lubbock, Linda Townsley and husband Kerry of Flower Mound, and Janice Mireles and husband Daniel of Haslet and many beloved nieces, nephews and in-laws. Because of Don’s love of animals, in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your local humane society.
