Dorothy Clydine Barbee

  Dorothy Clydine Barbee passed away on February 11, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was 93 years of age. Dorothy was born July 17, 1931, in Weatherford, Texas.

  She was a member of the South Main Church of Christ. 

  Dorothy loved to read, (especially a good mystery), loved to play bridge, cook, (her Thanksgiving dressing and chocolate pies were legendary), she was a crossword puzzle Queen, delighted in a good board game, and enjoyed playing the piano. While she never had many opportunities, she admitted she loved to dance. 

  Dorothy graduated from Weatherford High School in 1948. She also completed course work at Weatherford Jr. College. She married the love of her life, Jack Barbee on her birthday in 1948. They raised two children in Weatherford.

  Dorothy worked for the Federal Government in Defense Logistics at Fort Wolters in Mineral Wells. She moved to the Defense Contracts Administration Services in Dallas, Texas, where she managed a team that reviewed and approved military contracts until her retirement in 1986 having provided service for her Country for 32 years. 

  She lived in Weatherford in her early life, moved to Fort Worth during a large part of her Federal Government career eventually returning to her beloved Weatherford. 

  She is survived by her children, Patricia Ann Gass (David) of Canton, Georgia, and Bob Barbee (Brenda) of Weatherford, Texas; grandchildren, Melissa Vidakovic (Vladi), Jason Barbee, and Brandon Barbee of Weatherford, Texas; great grandchildren, Grayson Barbee, Dax Barbee, and Kinley Barbee of Weatherford; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. 

  Dorothy was preceded in death by husband, Bobby Jack Barbee; brothers, Eugene Jordan, and Forrest Jordan; sister, Helen Shaw; and mother, Lovie Connally.

  Dorothy will be missed by everyone she knew.

  Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Monday, February 17, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas.

  A graveside service will be held in her honor on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., at Curtis Cemetery, 1137 Curtis Drive, Weatherford, Texas.
