Dorothy Edmiston

Dorothy Edmiston died in Weatherford on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the age of 101. She was born in Strawn, Texas to L. T. and Eulalia Cook.
She graduated from Sherman High School and attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock in its early years in the 1930's. She married her high school sweetheart, C S Edmiston, and they celebrated 78 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 2016.
Mrs. Edmiston was a devoted and much loved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Though she possessed many talents and interests, her main loves were the mountains of Colorado, the great outdoors, and the sports of football and baseball.
She is survived by her daughters Carol Sue Dobbins and husband Lynn, Nita Whiteside and husband Bobby, Janie Pendleton and husband Kirk, and her son Chuck Edmiston and wife Wilma. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
The family is especially grateful to the caretakers who so diligently and lovingly assisted in her care.
No service is scheduled at this time. A celebration of her life will be held at a later time.
