Dorothy Lou Curtis passed away Monday March 3, 2014 in Weatherford.  Dorothy was born July 28, 1927 in Parker County to Andrew and Essie Green.  Dorothy was a volunteer to the youth at Weatherford Independent School District.  She worked in the library, reading to students and allowing them to read to her.  She spent most of her time at Sam Houston Elementary and Bill Wright Elementary Schools.  Dorothy was a proud homemaker; she made a home for her husband Warren McCoy “Coy” and their two children.
Dorothy leaves behind her daughter Sue Reed and her husband Gary of Saginaw; son-in-law Snuffy Dowdy of Fort Worth; granddaughter Jennifer Booher and her husband Andy of Kennedale, grandson Mark Simmons and his wife Jeanette of Gormon; grandson Shane Dowdy of Whitesboro, grandson Kolt Dowdy and his wife Tandy of Springtown; 13 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; brother Bill Green and his wife Charlotte of Fort Worth, sister Ruthie Detherage and her husband Carol of Aledo, sister Flo Davis of Weatherford, brother Carl Green and his wife Fern of Aledo, sister-in-law Betty Burkhalter and her husband Charles of Weatherford, brother-in-law Ted Curtis of Weatherford; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Coy Curtis, daughter Donna Kay Dowdy, her parents Andrew and Essie Green and parent-in-laws Warren and Katie Curtis.

A visitation will be held at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel Wednesday, March 5, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  A funeral service will be held at South Main Church of Christ Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 2:00 p.m.
