Dorthea D. Sharp

  Dorthea D. Sharp, 93, departed peacefully from this life on Sunday, January 7, 2024. She was born May 9, 1930, in Oklahoma, to Jesse Threatt and Myrtle (Rutledge) Threatt. Dorthea was a good mother and housewife who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her love of scripture, camping, traveling, and listening to music.

  Dorthea was preceded in death by her husband of 76 years, Harold T. Sharp, and by her parents.

  Dorthea is survived by her three children, Sharon Southern Karnes and husband, R.C. Karnes, Jimmy V. Sharp and wife, Kittie Sharp, and Coy Dean Sharp; seven grandchildren, Kimberly (Chad) Warren, Donna Peck, Deana (Jerry) Embry, Doug (Audra) Sharp, Rod Sharp, Travis Southern, and Shelby Sharp (Kobi) Perdue; ten great grandchildren, Kelsey Sharp, Gracie Peck, Sydney Sharp, Zane Peck, Cade Smith, Tanner Sharp, Tessa Sharp, Nora Perdue, Owen Perdue, and Sunny Southern; great-great granddaughter, Paislee Peck; and sister, Nancy Hawkins Martin.

  A time of visitation with the family is scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086.

  A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 12, 2024, at the Centerpoint Baptist Church, Weatherford, Texas, burial to follow at Center Point Cemetery.
