Douglas Carrell Hatcher

March 12, 1952 — October 15, 2022

On October 15, 2022, Douglas Carrell Hatcher completed his bucket list: To pass away on the family farm and to be reunited with his son, Bair.

Doug was born in Weatherford, Texas, on March 12, 1952, to his parents, Carrell and Jo Hatcher. Doug was a loving brother to Debra, Dwain, David, and Daryl. Doug graduated from Western Hills High School in 1970, after completing a football career and working to help provide for his family.

Forever the entrepreneur, Doug owned several businesses, including a tractor dealership, a construction company with his brothers, and a childcare facility. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad Company in 1987 and from Lockheed Martin in 2016. Doug loved music and had a storied music career touring all over Texas. He had a lasting impact on numerous lives and several people who became like family. He never met a stranger and would give anything he owned to that stranger if he was in need.

Doug is survived by his son, Colt; beloved wife, Jill Hatcher; along with his brothers, Dwain and David; aunts; uncles; cousins; nieces; and nephews. Doug was extremely proud of his grandchildren, Jaxon and Haven, and his “Bonus” grandchildren, Reid and Brielle Thompson.

Doug was preceded in death by his father, Carrell Leon Hatcher; mother, Sarah Jo (Davis) Hatcher; brother, Daryl Leon Hatcher; sister, Debra Jo (Hatcher) Robinson; son, Bair Douglas Hatcher; and “Bonus” children, Robert Wayne Dinwiddie and Shannon Etter Thompson.

Though we would like to still have him with us, there is peace and comfort knowing he is no longer in pain.
