Drotha Lee Wright Campbell, age 91, of Granbury, formerly of Weatherford, went to be with the Lord on May 24, 2008. She died of natural causes. She is survived by her daughters; Nelda Yandell Robertson and husband, Robert, of Tolar, and Noma Yandell Freeman and husband , Vard, of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas . She is also survived by four grandchildren, Tommie Wagner and husband, David, of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas; Jerri Bartos and husband, Barry of Arlington, Texas; Eric Vincent and wife, Sherri of Decatur, Texas and Tommy Lee Johnson III and wife, Sharon, of Grapevine, Texas; five great grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Her unconditional love for her family was a great gift that she shared and received in return. She was born on September 4, 1916, in Parker County, Texas where she lived the majority of her life. She came from a pioneer family who settled in Texas in 1842, and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. In the 1940's and 1950's she did her country a service as a "Rosie the Riveter" for the Convair plant and later General Dynamics, in Fort Worth. She loved to do all kinds of crafts, cake decorating, and was an avid quilter. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Melton Wright and Maude Virginia Barton Phillips; her husband, Dock Campbell; daughter, Joyce Yandell Johnson; two infant daughters, and sisters, Mable Smith, Nettie Ford, and Fannie Campbell. Drotha had a great zeal for life and will be remembered for her optimistic outlook. Her loving smile will be remembered as she leaves us with many memories that we will always cherish.
Funeral service: 2:00 PM, Thursday in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel with Dr. Charles Wetherbee officiating.
Interment: East Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home.
