Dwight Moore

Ernest Dwight Moore, age 56, of Burleson, went to be with his Lord Thursday, January 24, 2013  after  fighting a courageous battle with a debilitating illness.
 Dwight was born May 22, 1956 in Lamesa Texas; he was a 1974 Graduate of Hobbs HS, a graduate of NMJC and had a BA from UTA.
 
On Christmas day 1985 he met his wife of 26 years, had three beautiful, smart & loving children. He loved spending time with his family laughing, camping, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, riding his HOG,  and being active with Girl Scouts & Boy Scouts of America, until he became too ill to continue these activities. 
 Dwight was a family oriented man, with a large family who had incredible love for one another.   He enjoyed the family gatherings, worship, and traveling here and abroad.  His last trip to Alaska this summer was a dream come true: deep sea salmon fishing. 
 His other love was guitars and music in which he formed another loving family with the Texas Gathering Group.  This group spent many hours encouraging him in his playing and writing music.  They also spent many hours at the hospital with inspiration and music that never failed to uplift him.
Dwight found good things in every person he met.  He spent many years educating high school students in Computer Science. He was a technology specialist for his campus. 
He loved teaching the Guitar and Robotic club at his school.  He had students lining up to take his classes because he made them laugh and feel good about themselves.
Dwight made a lasting impact on family, friends, and all he touched…go with God my husband, our father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, friend, and teacher of life and laughter.
Dwight was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest and Amanda Carr, Eva Lee and Clyde Moore; Aunt, Blanche Wells, and Uncle, Troy Moore; Cousins, Keith Ray, DeWayne Phillips,  and Niece Allison Hood.
Survivors:  Those left to cherish his loving memory are his wife of 26 years, Beverly; children, Carrie Michelle, Dillon Lee, and Ciarra Anne Moore. Parents, Orval and Ernestine Moore, In-laws Darrel and Irma Copeland; Sisters and brother-in-laws, Janice and Brent Hood, Amanda and Craig Evans, and  Richard and Jess Smith. Nieces and Nephews; Brandon and Vicki, Autumn, and Blake Hood, Andrea Hood, Connor Evans, Jennifer, Ricky, and Joshua Smith, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.



 Funeral service 2:00 pm Monday January 28, 2013 at the North Side Baptist Church

Interment in East Greenwood Cemetery

Visitation 6-8 pm  Sunday at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel
