“The one who started this all,” E. H. Berdine, Jr., 92, of Weatherford, passed away Tuesday morning, June 20, 2017, at his home at Arbor House in Weatherford.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11 A.M., on Friday, June 23, 2017 at the South Main Church of Christ, 201 S. Main Street, in Weatherford. Burial will follow at East Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 P.M., Thursday, at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford.
E. H. was born June 9, 1925, in Post, Texas to Edward Herman and Ona Berdine. He moved to Weatherford in 1941. E. H. attended Brantley Business School. He married his wife Pauline and together had two sons, Rodney and Kenneth. E. H. had a 40 year career at General Dynamics before retiring in 1988. A devout Christian, E. H. was a life-time member of the South Main Church of Christ in Weatherford. E. H. was president of the Parker County Sportsmans Club for over 25 years, a member of the Good Sams RV Club, and was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan. E. H. was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening. Most of all, E. H. was devoted to and cherished his family.
E. H. is survived by his sons, Rodney (Lindy) and Kenneth (Armanda) Berdine; grandchildren, Brett Berdine, Lisa Roe, Keith Berdine, and April Stolley; great-grandchildren, Blake, Emily, Garyn, Dakota, Heather, Hannah, and Hunter; his sisters, Oleta Pickett and Zona Browder; brother, T. E. “Bo” Berdine; by numerous nieces and nephews; and by his faithful grand-dogs, Strudle and Joley.
In addition to his parents, E. H. was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Pauline; and by his siblings, Valdine Berdine, Allan Richards, and Inez Yeary.
E. H.’s family would like to thank the caring staff of Arbor House for their loving care of E. H.
