E. Irene Fuller

Irene Fuller, 99, a homemaker of Weatherford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at Holland Lake Senior Care Center. Mrs. Fuller was born Elsie Irene Helms, in Van Zandt County, Texas, on November 2, 1921, to Jud and Lela Helms. 

On August 29, 1939, she married Thomas Franklin Fuller, and in 1945 they made their home in Baytown, Texas. After her husband’s retirement, they moved to Weatherford in 1977. 

A member of the Church of Christ, Mrs. Fuller loved to embroider and quilt, and enjoyed arts and crafts. She was an excellent cook, preparing many delicious dishes. Her chocolate pies and divinity candy were a must-have! She enjoyed playing games such as Dominoes, Triple Yahtzee, and Muggins. 

She will be most remembered as having a very caring, kind, loving and generous heart, and loved spending time with her family. Mrs. Fuller was the perfect mother and grandmother to her family, and will be missed by them very much.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas F. Fuller; parents, Jud and Lela (Stanbery) Helms; brother, Elvie Helms; sisters, Inez (Helms) Pearson and Glenna (Gore) Bolen; grandson, Ben Fuller, Jr.; and one niece.

She is survived by her daughter, Jean (Fuller) Akers; sons, Benny Fuller, Sr. and Tommy Fuller; grandson, Bobby Akers; granddaughter, Leann (Fuller) McDaniel and husband, Troy; six great grandchildren, T.J. Mc Daniel, Josh McDaniel, Brittany McDaniel, Ashlee Fuller, Cheyanne Fuller, and Emmalee Fuller; three great-great grandchildren, Haylie McDaniel, Harper McDaniel, and Stetson McDaniel; and by three nephews and two nieces.

The family wishes to thank the medical staff and faculty at Holland Lake Senior Care Center and Solaris Hospice for their quality care and concern for our beloved mother and grandmother.

Funeral arrangements by Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. A graveside service was held at Memory Gardens, in Weatherford.
