Edith Jane Snow

Edith Jane (Porter) Snow, 69, of Weatherford, passed from her earthly home on Saturday, March 25, 2023.

Edith was born September 5, 1953 in Fort Worth, TX to Burnett Cyril (BC) and Oleta (Ware) Porter. Throughout her childhood, their family moved to Abilene, Montana, Missouri and then back to Texas where she graduated from Western Hills High School in 1971.

Edith married Jerry Snow on October 29, 1971 and together had two children, Amy and Clint. They raised their family in Fort Worth, Palestine and New Braunfels. While raising her children, Edith went back to school and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Southwest Texas State University. She followed by starting her career working for Capital CDC in Austin, TX where she spent many years devoted to helping her clients with loans for small businesses. Once her children were out of the house, she had the opportunity to take her business to Albuquerque, NM. She and Jerry enjoyed several years in the mountains until they were ready to come back to the Fort Worth area to be near family. Edith went to work for North Texas CDC where she later retired. Edith received the Lifetime Achievement and Distinguished Service Award from North Texas Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders.

Edith’s passion was for her family and most of all her four precious grandchildren. She took after her father in many areas, including her frequent pranks and sense of humor. She could make any situation fun. She had a special love for the mountains and the beautiful skies over New Mexico and of course shopping in Santa Fe.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Jerry and her parents. She is survived by her children, Amy Snow, Clint Snow (Jana); grandchildren, Trinity Snow Thompson, Colton Snow, Landon Snow, and Judson Snow; her siblings, Connie Forbes (Gary), Rhonda Smith (Doug), and Darla Ezell (Andy); Karen McBee; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.

A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N Elm St, Weatherford, TX 76086. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8, Friday evening, at the chapel. Burial will be held at Memory Gardens west of Weatherford following the service.
