Edward Carroll Therens, a.k.a. Rabbit Therens, 65, of Weatherford, passed away October 16, 2019 at his home. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held from 6 until 8, Wednesday evening, October 23, 2019 at 1226 W. Ball Street, in Weatherford. Burial will be held at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, October 24, 2019, with Military Rites.
Rabbit was born on October 12, 1954 in San Francisco, California to Janet Louise Therens of Battle Creek, Michigan and Edward John Therens of Stickney, South Dakota. Rabbit graduated from Weatherford High School in 1973. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for 3 years. He was a lifetime Weatherford resident. He was a devout Harley enthusiast who enjoyed riding his bike.
Rabbit is survived by his siblings, Mark Anthony Therens of Euless, Candy Cain-Benton of Weatherford, Debbie and husband George Davis, of New Caney, Texas, Carol Therens of Colorado; and by his nieces and nephews, Brandi Bridges and husband Cody, Brittany and husband Brian Kerr, James Cain, Maddie Therens, Sean and wife Natalie Therens, Miranda Therens, Kristy Davis, Nick and wife Diana Davis, Christopher and wife Kimberly, and Patrick Davis.
Rabbit was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Janet Therens, and by his brother, Bruce Therens.
