Eldon Hager

Eldon Hager was born in Gentryville, Missouri. He died, peacefully, at age 65 of lung cancer in his home in Willow Park, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia; his mother, Andree Hager; his sister, Greta Mankins; loving family and friends. Eldon graduated from Texas Wesleyan University and Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. He spent the greater part of his adult life working, successfully, with programs for the poor and displaced. He began his career as the Social Action Director of Catholic Charities for the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth. He went on to work for the International Catholic Migration Commission (ICMC) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). He lived and worked, often accompanied by his wife, throughout much of Asia and Africa – Pakistan, Thailand, Burundi, Angola, Cambodia, Kenya, etc. He was happy in his life and work.
