Ella Elwood, 85, a retired Lunchroom Manager at Crockett Elementary School of Weatherford, Texas, passed away on February 12, 2016, at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth.
Ella was born December 24, 1930, in Dennis, Texas to Elbert and Carrie Sosebee. She was raised in the Dennis and Brock Community and spent most of her adult life in and around Weatherford. Ella will be remembered for being an excellent cook. She loved everyone and was the most ‘non-judgmental’ person ever. Most of all, Ella cherished time spent with her beloved family – and particularly cherished time spent with her grandchildren.
Ella is survived by her daughters, Connie (Glynn) Tucker of Dallas, Nancy (Mickey) Yeager of Fort Worth; son, Ronnie (Pat) Montgomery of Weatherford; brothers D.L. (Evelyn) Sosebee of Weatherford; sisters, Lula Ramsay of Weatherford and Betty Williams of Weatherford; ten grandchildren; and by seven great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, Ella was preceded in death by husbands, Carl Montgomery and Tom Elwood; brothers, Lester Sosebee and J.L. Sosebee; sisters, Jurlene Bean, Bonnie York, and Merle Walls.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 4:00, Sunday afternoon, February 14, at the Galbreaith - Pickard Funeral Home, 913 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford, TX.
Graveside committal service will be held at 10:30, on Monday, February 15, at East Greenwood Cemetery, Weatherford.
