Elna Diane Ellis

Elna Diane Ellis departed peacefully from this life on August 28, 2023, at age 86. Diane was born August 22, 1937, in Lipan, Texas to the late George Light and Dottie (Tuggle) Light. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Averil A. Harris, Bobby G. Light, Patsy P. Hammonds, and Amelia Light.

Diane was a devoted wife of 62 years to the late Arlin Wayne Ellis; loving mother to her two daughters & sons-in-laws, Arlynn & James Prachyl and Lori & James Berry; doting grandmother to Amber, James, Jr., Bryan, Jonathan, & Brandi, and to 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous extended family members. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Among Diane's professional achievements, she retired as a deputy clerk for the Parker County District Clerk's office. Diane was a member of South Main Church of Christ; she enjoyed puzzles, playing Bingo, camping, and was an avid book reader. Diane was a kind woman who will be remembered for her ambition and loyalty.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 31, 2023, with visitation one hour prior at 10:00 a.m., at the South Main Church of Christ, in Weatherford, Texas. Burial following at Zion Hill Cemetery.
