Elva Nash Scarbrough, age 92, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015. Elva was born June 24, 1922, in Close City, Texas, to Cora and Tom Stone. She was a resident of Weatherford since 1952, and was the wife of D.B. (Shorty) Nash for 54 years and later to Hershell Scarbrough for nine years.
Elva was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family and friends. Mrs. Scarbrough was a member of Harmony Baptist Church for 40 years before moving to Brock in 2000 where she joined and attended Brock Baptist Church. She was a 60 year member of Brock Olive Branch Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Elva was preceded in death by her husband, D.B. (Shorty) Nash, and husband, Hershell Scarbrough; grandson, Brandy Nash; and all five of her brothers.
Mrs. Scarbrough is survived by her son, Wayne Nash; daughter, Donna King and husband, Jim; stepchildren, Calvin Scarbrough and wife, Jody, and Donnie Kay Johnston; grandchildren, Deanna Nash, Clay and Jolee Tidwell, and Destry Coker and husband, Chris; step grandchildren, Jamie and Gigi Scarbrough, Melissa and Jeff Klingberg, Cristy and Brian Carr, and Michelle and Mark Pittard; great grandchildren, Shelbi Tidwell, Bryse Brownen, and Tanner Brownen; step great grandchildren, Kathryn Scarbrough, Bradley, Clayton and Kelly Klingberg, Michael, Maverick and Major Pittard, and Isabella and Cooper Corr; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 19, 2015, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Interment in Johnson Cemetery.
