Emma Lee Harris

Emma Lee Harris, 80, of Weatherford, passed away Friday, April 9, 2010, in Holland Lake Rehab. Emma was born October 3, 1929, in Plainview, Texas, to James and Mattie Applewhite. 

She was a member of the Springtown Order of the Eastern Star, and two Red Hat Society clubs, the Wild West Women, and The Sassy Peaches. She was an active member of the Democratic Society, as well as a homemaker. 

Emma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman Harris; a daughter, Toni Hunter; her sister, Jean Mitchell; and brother, Fred Applewhite. 

Her survivors include her daughters, Lois Lee and Joe of Springfield, Tennessee, Joyce Bruton and Robert of Mineral Wells, and Marilyn Newsome and Jerry of Weatherford; son-in-law, Mike Hunter of Weatherford; grandchildren, Tammy, Travis, Jerry, Greg, Wayne, Tony, Tracy, Scott, Don, Amy, and Neil; and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. 

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, April, 14, 2010, in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, a private interment will follow. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
